Fed: Hicks accepts control order but insists he's no threat

Former Guantanamo detainee DAVID HICKS will find out today how free a man he'll be
after he's released from an Adelaide prison later this month.

HICKS will be released from Yatala prison on December 29 .. after serving out his US-imposed
sentence for providing material support for terrorism.

Magistrate WARREN DONALD will rule on the conditions of a control order being sought
by the Australian Federal Police.

The AFP says HICKS is still a dangerous man .. and the Federal Magistrates Court was
told yesterday he had praised OSAMA BIN LADEN as lovely in letters.

However .. his lawyers say the letters are years old .. and HICKS no longer presents
a danger to any person.
