FED:Coalition plans for older workers

Opposition Leader TONY ABBOTT will unveil a coalition plan today to offer employers
incentive payments to take on older workers.

The plan's to encourage bosses to employ people over 50 who want to work but are having
trouble getting a job because of their age.

Mr ABBOTT says it'll lift productivity and do everyone a favour.

Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD is in Cairns .. as a Newspoll just out shows Labor behind
the coalition in Queensland and New South Wales but ahead in South Australia and Victoria.

She's demanding answers from Mr ABBOTT about possible Liberal Party involvement in
a five million dollar anti-Labor ad campaign against government plans for tobacco plain
packaging.
