WA: Historic bells would toll for no one, architect
PERTH, Jan 11 AAP - A prominent Perth architect claims historic bells to be housed in the
West Australian government's proposed $5 million belltower would be drowned out by traffic
noise.
Brian Klopper, who designed a chapel at one of Perth's private girls' schools, said a set
of bells placed in the chapel were bigger than the set to be housed in the proposed belltower.
"The loudest those bells (in the belltower) would get would be about 60 decibels, which is
about the noise a bus makes," he said.
"You won't even hear the bells …
